Energy Company Obligation (ECO)<\/mark><\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Support with Energy Company Obligation is available for properties with a low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating that currently use electric or solid fuel heating systems. Up to 100% funding is accessible for initiatives aimed at replacing electric heaters or solid fuel heating. This may include the installation of gas central heating for properties without prior central heating, provided there is an existing mains gas supply within 25 metres. The Obligation also covers the installation of cavity wall, internal wall, and loft insulation, or room-in-roof insulation for loft bedrooms.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The L.A.Flex initiative assists private tenants lacking central heating who are vulnerable to fuel poverty. Tenants may qualify for ECO4 funding without benefits if they are typically over 60, have children under 5, or have specific health issues, subject to local council criteria. Eligibility for funding requires receiving one or more benefits such as Child Benefit (subject to income thresholds), Housing Benefit, Pension Guarantee Credit, Pension Credit Savings Credit, Income-related ESA, Income-based JSA, Income Support, Tax Credits, or Universal Credit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Home Upgrade Grant (HUG)<\/mark><\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

The Home Upgrade Grant <\/strong>is a government-funded scheme designed to help improve the energy efficiency of low\u2011income, off\u2011gas\u2011grid homes. It provides significant financial support for measures such as insulation, low\u2011carbon heating, draught\u2011proofing, and renewable technologies. For eligible properties, HUG can cover a large portion\u2014or in some cases the full cost\u2014of the upgrade work, making it one of the most valuable schemes available to landlords with harder\u2011to\u2011heat homes. By accessing HUG, landlords can reduce running costs for tenants, improve EPC ratings, and future\u2011proof their properties against tightening energy standards.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Great British Insulation Scheme<\/mark><\/strong><\/h4>\r\n

This support is for homes with low EPC ratin<\/span>g from D down to G and is in a council tax band of A to D in England and A to E in Wales and Scotland. This scheme is for free or cheaper insulation to reduce the energy usage. ECO is\u00a0not available in Northern Ireland.<\/span><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Applicants can get support towards install cavity or solid wall insulation, loft or room in roof insulation, flat or pitched roof insulation, floor insulation, park home insulation. To check if you can get support you\u2019ll need the total household income, <\/strong>the type of benefits anyone living in the property receives (they may be eligible for additional support) and provide an email address or phone number so your supplier can contact you. Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG)<\/mark><\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Homeowners and Landlords in England and Wales can apply directly for the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG), while in Northern Ireland, a recommendation from an Occupational Therapist is required.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This grant helps disabled individuals make necessary safeguarding upgrades to their home. All local authorities offer DFG schemes for adaptations costing over \u00a31,000, with a maximum of \u00a325,000 in Northern Ireland \u00a330,000 in England and \u00a336,000 in Wales. Adaptations can be improving access with ramps and widening doorways, and creating accessible bathrooms and more.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
